Meal Planning For Beginners

Although meal planning may seem intimidating at first, it really is a great/simple way to get started with eating properly during your fitness journey! Many people love meal planning because it forces them to stay regimented and stay on track with their nutrition even when they may not want to. Here are a couple tips/tricks on how to meal plan as a beginner:

  1. Start Small

You don't have to go all out right off the bat! Start with having one meal per day prepped and ready for the week, and slightly increase the amount of prepped meals you have when you feel ready.

  1. Meal Plan Foods you Enjoy!

There are so many healthy alternatives to the foods you know and love and this can make meal planning that much more enjoyable! For example, swap out flour pasta for a chickpea or lentil pasta that is packed with protein and nutrients! 

  1. Invest in Quality Containers:

If you are committed to meal planning, it only makes sense to have the proper containers to store your food! When looking for containers, aim for glass containers to avoid stainage and look for dividers to ensure your food remains seperated. 

  1. Consistently Make Time: 

Find one day a week that you can dedicate 2-3 hours to simply cooking your meals for the week. Many people love prepping on Sunday’s so their food is fresh and ready for the busy week ahead! Grab a glass of wine, play some relaxing music, and get cookin’!
